BlackBerry is set to release BBM (BlackBerry Messenger) for Windows Phone this week.
Update: BBM for Windows Phone Emerges from Beta
When BBM debuted, it was a giant hit- the whole world ran after it. It became one strict requirement on the social CV of promising bachelors; as even native doctors who were trying to add scientific packaging to their spiritual services, opted a BBM outlet to its clients too!
When the Blackberry decided to share the app with Android and iOS the previous year, Windows phone didn’t have the ticket to the party so were left out. But now, there seem to be an armistice as the Canadian company plans to unveil a windows outfit for its BBM services.
The beta test was a big success reminding the company that Windows phone was humus soil and some tanks of dollars could well be still harvested if BBM was introduced. From a recent publication on the Inside Blackberry Blog, Senior VP of Emerging Solutions at Blackberry, Mathew Talbot announced that 10,000 beta testers had signed up in just 24 hours- big encouraging!
“Next up is BBM for Windows Phone, coming this week. When we announced the private beta a few weeks ago, all 10,000 testing slots were taken within 24 hours. The excitement is there. The numbers are there. The momentum is there,” Matthew Talbot reported, also adding we could be expecting its launch someday this week. The Windows model may not be as pretty competitively as its Android contemporaries, certain features like tickers, Channels and location sharing, BBM Voice wouldn’t be in the BBM convoy arriving Windows Phone. Yet users would still proudly enjoy BBM services like BBM group, BBM chat as well as other features. The missing guests are expected to be made available in subsequent updates.
Now, Windows phone users could have a taste of berry, that popular black one!
