I think I really love the way Facebook is expanding into almost everything in the world. From a basic social media platform to an all encompassing go-to center for online solutions. It is amazing, today we hear Facebook has done this and before we recover from the gasp of the Waooh, Facebook smashes us with another wonder. One day I will be able to play PES with my friends from the UK on Facebook, I know!
The one we are talking about today is the feature Facebook has rolled out that allows you as Facebook Messenger user to receive as well as send money via the app. It is pretty big news believe me that the Messenger app is now compatible with PayPal transactions. This feature which will definitely be extended globally is currently being tested in the United States.
Previously, the Messenger app was rather infamously compatible with supported payments via means of debit cards. But with the updates Messenger is putting in place, users will gain the ability of linking their Messenger and PayPal accounts. It will really be cool as payment notifications will also be delivered straight within the Messenger app.
Bill Ready, EVP, Chief Operating Officer, PayPal was all joy when he commented on this”This collaboration continues to showcase our march to be a customer champion” .
Kudos to Zuckerberg and the general Facebook family!
