Did you know the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge gave Samsung its biggest profits in over two years

Samsung will be well grateful to the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge. Courtesy of these two devices, Samsung has had achieved a record operating profit of $7.22 billion (8.14 trillion won) in Q2 2016. This is bogus leap of 18% from the same period some twelve months ago. On a general note, revenue had risen up by $45.1 billion (50.94 trillion won), this marking an increase of 5% from Q2 2015.

The handset business had made for 50% of Samsung’s bottom line, with the division recoding about $3.83 billion (4.32 trillion won) in profit raking in a revenue of $23.5 billion (26.56 trillion won).

According to Samsung, the bigger S7 edge model which actually comes at a greater cost had accounted for more than half of the sales of its flagship series. Also, the Galaxy A series as well as the J series had also made increases in sales in the category of mid-range and low-end devices.

After popping all the celebratory bottles, Samsung is leaving the dining table to the study table as it makes plan diligently for its third quarter. Samsung is of the opinion that the launch of a fresh large-screen flagship phone (most possibly the Galaxy Note 7) “will help to maintain solid sales of high-end smartphones led by the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge:”

In Samsung’s words:

Samsung will focus on increasing smartphone sales under strong seasonality with the launch of a new model, while expecting marketing expenses to increase QOQ due to seasonality.
