Truth is we have not seen anything from Technology yet. The number of ‘H’s in our waoh exclamation is increasing exponentially as mankind is being rattled with tornadoes of inventions. Soon technologies may come up such that flies would be renting our mouths as it would take a full day to finish exclaiming a waoh in reaction to upcoming technological wonders.
One of this could be the bendable smartphones Lenovo is promising in five years time. This was after the Chinese technology firm of late paraded a flexible device boasting the capacity to wrap around the wrist of the user.
Just a month ago, Lenovo unveiled a concept product tagged the CPlus. This product rocked a 4.26-inch flexible display as well as being compatible with Google’s Android mobile operating system. Though for now, Lenovo chose not to commercialise the product keeping it off sales, Lenovo yet nourishes plans to thrust it in the market within five years time.
“We will discover a whole new suite of opportunities with flexible displays,” Aymar de Lencquesaing, co-president of Lenovo’s mobile business group, had announced in course of an interview last week in Paris at the Viva Technology conference.
“It’s hard to put an exact time frame on it. I think this is a product that could come to market in the next five years … the next couple is a bit aggressive, in particular because the equation of technology, novelty and price point. So you have to have a product that you can deliver the market that makes it a good value proposition.”
Lenovo has been working its way around experiments with innovative features on smartphones in an overall market. This is as device makers strive to put a defining touch to products distinguishing it from rivals’. According to reports, Samsung is equally experimenting on bendable phones which could possibly be released next year.
