First off, I want to apologise for not announcing this event before its commencement, for the late update and most of all the absence of images, my devices chose that day of all days to act up; I just managed to revive my phone today and my system is still under repairs; so I couldn’t take photos. Anyways, let’s get on with the summary.
On Thursday the 7th of may 2015, PocketMoni, the developers of eTranzact launched an update for the pocketmoni app dubbed TheNewPocketMoni app at the Co-creation Hub(CcHub) at Sabo, Yaba.
The app featured some significant changes like automated payments, better UI, cashless withdrawals at ATMs (which is limited to FCMB for now). The event which was scheduled to start at 11am (WAT) ended up starting at 12noon. (you won’t blame us Nigerians for using “African Time” 😉 .
Nonetheless, Mr Eze Ike started with a keynote, highlighting the major things that would be discussed during the event. Hey gave a pretty but short presentation and demo’d a few of the features which some people stood to benefit from. For example, when he was demoing bill payments, his assistant(Miss Bunmi) credited someone’s Swift account with a substantial amount; they also scheduled a weekly credit of 100NGN to one of the developers present for the next 6 months.
Later on, they talked security, flexibility,cross-platform usability and other developer-oriented jargon. The devices present at the event were preloaded with the app and we were encouraged to test it out. At the end of the event, they gave each of us a hamper and bid us farewell.
To avoid apologising again, I officially announce the 2015 West African Bloggers Conference(WABC) on the 15th – 16th of May, 2015. Don’t worry, I’ll keep you guys posted during and after the event. (I promise!).
