According to the reports reaching us from our sources, Lenovo has for some weeks now been publicizing a new phone that it has designed which it calls the Z5. The company has been posting sketches and renders that depicted that the new device is actual all-screen phone that has neither bezels nor notches. Not too long ago, the Z5 was launched in Beijing and it so happens to be that the new device did not seem at all like what was displayed in those sketches.
Our sources confirmed that the Z5 has a notch and not only that, it also has a chin at the bottom. The Z5 has a 6.2-inch 1080p screen with an aspect ratio of 19:9. The device also has bezels that according to Lenovo are thinner than the Xiaomi Mi 8 and the iPhone X, it also has a notch that is narrower than these two devices. The hack however is that it does have a notch as every other Android phone that has been released this year. Lenovo asserts the device has a screen-to-body ratio of 90 percent.
A good look at the actual Lenovo Z5 does not in any way match what was teased in advance of its launch. The render device that was publicized is much better than what was released as a final product.
Elsewhere the phone has an unspecified eight-core Qualcomm processor and 16-megapixel dual cameras. The battery is 3300mAh and can be fast-charged at 18W.
What’s worse is that the device has an eight-core Qualcomm processor that is not clearly defined and dual cameras all of 16 megapixels. The battery capacity of the device is 3300mAh and it charges fast at 18W.
Having considered all of this, there’s a bright side. The Z5 is quite cheap, valued at 1,299 yuan which is approximately $200 for a 6GB RAM model with 64GB storage, the model with 6GB RAM and 128GB of storage costs 1,799 yuan – about $280. The phone will hit the market on the 12th of June, the same day Vivo plans to announce its own very well hyped device which follows in the footsteps of the remarkable Apex prototype with no bezels that we had a glimpse of earlier this year.
