Google’s intent for these updates in the form of the integration of Duo and Allo into its apps is to ensure that with a tap of a button, you can quickly activate Duo and Allo. This way, it is more automated and convenient than having to open the Duo and Allo app itself.

So with these updates, we are looking at contact apps, android messages app and others to be ramped up with these updates. With these updates in place, you would see a video icon appearing adjacent a contact’s name who is already a Duo user. This icon would be appearing in the call history window, which is rather close to the contact place. The icon would also show SMS) conversation with that individual who is already a Duo user.

However in the condition where your network carrier allows for video calling as well as the person who you intend using Duo with also uses a network carried that equally allows for video calling, then preference would be given to the video calling service of the network carrier.
