Make each morning marvelous from the moment you open your eyes, with the help of SensorWake’s smell-based alarm clock, invented to get you out of bed in the morning with your favorite scent from the wide assortment of scents, like coffee, croissants, the ocean, or even the smell of US dollars.
The project was created by Guillaume Rolland, an 18-year-old French entrepreneur (engineering student) with a vision of making everyone wake up happy. The project was named as one of the top 15 inventions “that can change the world” at the 2014 Google Science Fair.
For SensorWake to finally land on your nightstand, it requires manufacturing and distribution startup costs, capital for initial inventory, and additional quality assurance to make sure customers get the best product possible. Now, the company is taking to Kickstarter to raise cash for an initial production run, with deliveries expected to begin in November.
Interested in getting one of these devices? A backer rewards system has been developed for those that contributed to the project. Early birds can snag one for €60 (around $65), with two capsules of your choice. When a capsule expires, you’ll be able to replace it for $7.50, with each one rated to last roughly two months at a time.
