Sony announces its Xperia XA2 Plus

There are a lot of companies out there that like to think that their phones are the best for content consumption, and to be honest, that is a good way to market any device. One would hardly resist any phone that is able to provide the best viewing, gaming, and scrolling experiences. And a few days ago, Sony made a move as it introduced the Xperia XA2 Plus, a phone that in Sony’s own words is “designed to entertain.”

Put chiefly, the device features a 6-inch Full HD+ display with an aspect ratio of 18:9. The screen corners of the device are round and it includes bezels which is sadly somewhat of a let-down because in this age, most top notch phones happen to not have bezels and people would prefer bezel-less devices to be the devices that are suited for their entertainment. However, this downside can be overlooked. The device appears to have a headphone jack which is certainly an upgrade for Sony devices.

These are other specs of the device: a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 processor, either 3GB RAM and 32GB storage, or 6GB RAM with 64GB of internal storage, a 23-megapixel rear-facing camera with 4K video recording and 120 fps slow-motion records, an 8-megapixel, super wide-angle front-facing camera, it runs Android 8.0 Oreo, it supports Qualcomm Quick Charge with USB-C, it has a rear fingerprint sensor, and is available in silver, black, gold, and green colours.

As of now, we have no information on the price of the phone or when it will be available, but, the XA1 of the previous year was about $380. In general, there is nothing out of the ordinary on this device, however, it features everything that should be expected for a midrange phone used for streaming. More importantly, it seems as though Sony intends to have upgrades this device’s line with a few display tweaks and a much better processor with an option for more RAM and storage. The XA1 of the previous year was built for entertainment, however, the iteration of this year may well do a much better service of offering people a place where they could see all their shows.
