Google Chrome for Android, iPhone, and iPad shows “suggested articles” from the web on its New Tab page. You can hide those if you’d rather clean up your New Tab page and avoid the distractions.
Chrome for Android and iOS shows “suggested articles” from the web on its New Tab page. However, you can hide these articles. To do so;
Android
On Android, you cannot disable the article suggestions, but you can hide them.
- Tap the arrow by the right of “Articles for you” at the top of the list of articles on the New Tab page.
When you do that, the list of articles collapse. To see them again, tap the arrow again to expand the list and view your suggested articles.
iPhone and iPad
On iPhone and iPad, you cannot collapse suggested articles to hide them on Chrome, but you can disable them from appearing on the New Tab page.
- Tap the menu button at the top-right corner of the Chrome app, and then tap “Settings”.
- Under Advanced, toggle “Articles Suggestions” slider off. This disable the suggested articles on the New Tab page.
This setting does not sync between your devices, so you’ll have to disable Article Suggestions separately on all the mobile devices you use.

If you don’t mind seeing the suggested articles, you can just disable the one you don’t want on your New Tab page. Tap the article and swipe to the left or right to remove it from the New Tab page.
