Nintendo has taken the long step into mobile games. In a push to extend its dominance to the mobile gaming parlance, Nintendo aims to launch two games which would be compatible to play on both IOS and android. Most importantly, you will not have to pay to enjoy these games as Nintendo promises to make them free to play!
Some time ago in March, Nintendo has launched the Mimito which received a welcoming clamour in the market as the game enjoyed over nine million downloads. Nintendo plans to model these next two games after very famous franchises Animal Crossing and Fire Emblem, but pricing was not mentioned.
“Fire Emblem and Animal Crossing are both free-to-start apps,” DeNA’s chief executive Isao Moriyasu told the publication, thus supporting the implication of the possible reality of in-game microtransactions for both titles.
Microtransaction happens to be a business model where users can possibly buy virtual goods through micropayments. Microtransactions just as mentioned are well used in free-to- games to make provision of a revenue source for the developers
Moriyasu also put in that the new titles had more in line with “pure-game apps” rather than Miimoto, which placed more emphasis on social interactions. The Mimito was quite a distance off actual gaming. We expect these new games to have their releases this year with Nintendo pledging to releases four additional games before the year draws its curtain.
