University College Hospital (UCH)
University College Hospital (UCH) Ibadan was established in August 1952 because of the requirement to train people in medicine and in other healthcare areas in Nigeria. However, it was not until 1953 that the commencement of development of the permanent location of the hospital began after which it was officially commissioned on the 20th of November, 1957. At the commissioning, the hospital had only 500 bed spaces but today it has 1,000 bed spaces as well as 200 examination couches.
UCH at first had only 2 departments, Medicine and Surgery, now, the hospital has close to 65 departments of which the first Department of Nuclear Medicine in Nigeria is one of them (commissioned in April 2006). Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH)
The Jos University Teaching Hospital or University of Jos Teaching hospital (JUTH) was established in Jos, Plateau State in the year 1975. The Teaching hospital has 8 faculties and it admits close to 3,500 students in an academic year. The JUTH has a laboratory constructed specifically for the study and treatment of HIV/AIDS and STDs.
JUTH offers a lot of medical, surgical, diagnostic, out-patient, rehabilitative and support services to the residents of Jos, Plateau State. The hospital has an Accident and Emergency Unit that is fully operational and delivers emergency services 24 hours a day each year. The Lagos University Teaching Hospital was established in Lagos in the year 1962 along with the University of Lagos College of Medicine as its subsidiary. One objective was to train 100 doctors annually among other things.

Bingham University Teaching Hospital (Evangel Hospital)
Bingham University Teaching Hospital previously known as the Evangel Hospital, is a tertiary healthcare facility that delivers secondary and tertiary medical care, and also trains both high and middle level work force to function in the area of health. The University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital (UNTH) started in the early 20th century as a regular general hospital for Africans and it was built by the colonial masters. The UNTH is located at Ituku/Ozalla at about 21 kilometres away from the Capital City of Enugu State along Enugu – Port Harcourt Express Way.
UNTH is well-found under the Federal Government assisted VAMED Engineering Equipment Programme and this has raised the hospital to the level of an international standard. The goal of the hospital is to provide health services, train individuals in medicine and engage in research and it has facilities and equipments put in place for health care-giving and for training its staff.
