MTN Zone, a MTN Nigeria prepaid plan that gives up to 100% discounts. According to MTN Nigeria ‘ MTN Zone is a prepaid price plan that offers MTN Prepaid customers discounts for as low as from 1 kobo per second on their MTN-to-MTN calls depending on the area and time of the day’. It all works on a simple premise: when you’re on the MTN Zone Per Second price plan, you stand the chance to receive an instant discount on your next phone call.
To be frank, MTN Zone sucks. Some months ago, MTN charges 40k per seconds on calls I make on MTN-to-MTN. So I migrated to MTN Pulse where am being charged 15kobo per second after a charge of 58kobo per second for the first minute in the day.
After a while, I tried a simple trick on my second MTN line which is on Zone tariff plan, then I noticed a big change in the charges. I’m now being charged as high as 8 kobo per second on MTN-to-MTN calls.
Here is the trick. Whenever you want to make calls on MTN Zone tariff, simply switch your mobile network to 3G only. You must have 3G network in your area to enjoy low tariff on MTN zone. That’s all.

I’ve tested this on many MTN lines and it work.
MTN Zone no longer suck with me. It’s never too late, you can join the train.

hw do i changd 2 3g?
@Whiz, what kind of phone are you using?
Tweaks, Olusegun, Tweaks.
Sincerly, I would have voted MTN the worst network (if a poll was run) sometimes back. However, as time proceeded and I used their night plan, things began to change in my perception. Now, it’s really a network I feel I should patronize (once again).
This entry may just be another reason why I believe nothing is inherently bad. It just takes some tweaking to understand things better anyway.
Always,
Terungwa
i have tried it,it is working for me
