According to sony:

“Consumers want to let a friend see the photo they just took or share a video easily with as few steps as possible,” said Viviano Cantu, director of consumer media marketing, Sony Electronics. “These new drives combine convenience, peace of mind and performance and are perfect for mobile multi-tasking.”

Currently the drives only work for devices running Android 4.0.3-4.3, but support for Android 4.4 is being addressed.

Sony plans to make the USB flash drive available by January 2014 at their retail locations and on their website. The USB flash drive will be available in three variants of 8GB, 16GB and 32GB, which will be priced at $19.99, $29.99 and $62.99 respectively.

There is a free file manager app available in the Play Store that is specifically built to play nice with the drive if your phone has any problems.
