After Infinix unleashed Infinix Note 4, we were struggling to catch our breath from the wonder of the phone. But there seems to be no break from the wonder as Infinix has struck us again with another thunderous bolt in the form of the latest Infinix Smart X5010. No space for recovery!
The Infinix smart comes with bigger enticements in the form of a larger battery, impressive Android Nougat factory, and a romantic premium metal body that made me drool to lash my large palms on the phone. Sure the phone comes with its traditional dual sim slot with which you guys can be assured of an impressive browsing experience.
So I got my hand on the phone. Nice catchy packet which only increased by perspiration to see what lies inside the box. I had to unbox it and there I was with another wonder from Infinix.
Trust me every new phone makes its debut with me with a camera shot and I wasted no time. The back camera was impressive capturing my killer smile. Really impressive considering the back camera was 8 MP. And then I took the selfie. Can I ever do without selfies? I doubt though. I wasn’t really expecting much from the selfie but with a 2 MP Camera, the shot really waohed me. The flashlight in the front camera makes things more delicious. And I forgot to add, the back camera too is well enhanced with flashlight. I could take some pictures at night too.
FEATURES, DESIGN & DISPLAY
Forgive my courtesy, this is what I was supposed to talk about first but with my goons and baes waiting for me on Instagram, I couldn’t help give them a shot with the Infinix camera. Apologies accepted? So here I was with the Infinix smart. Truth pertaining to the appearance, there is little that would separate the Infinix smart from your Hot 2 if you saw the former from afar. Well, the Infinix smart retains its attraction when you look at the curved edges and the plastics chassis.
The display was really nice. The phone presents a 5-inch screen, IPS Display enhanced with a crisp 720p HD resolution. The dimensions are neatly placed at 144.9×71.9×8.35mm with IPS capacitive touchscreen. Weighing just Weight 145g, it is not the phone you need to take about with a cab because of its humongous weight.
So I went to the media. The Infinix smart caught me nicely with two front loudspeakers. This was a Dual Dirac Speaker. It would mark the first time we would be seeing this on an Infinix phone. Of course, the FM radio was there. As the party starter, I got the phone banging “If” by Davido. Honestly the sound was wonderful. If I tell u say I love you ooo…that was what I was singing for the Infinix smart speaker in appreciation of its superb sound quality. For music lovers, this device will not leave you wanting.
Well, the browsing was nice. Fast paced 3G, I was able to stream Chelsea match with Burnley. So sad Chelsea lost which is was a bad debut for my Infinix smart. I guess Conte didn’t know I was streaming the match with a new phone. If he has known, I think he could have started Morata.
PROCESSOR & SOFTWARE
The Infinix smart is up to date with the Android 7.0 Nougat (HIOS). The RAM is okay with a capacity of 1GB with 16GB internal storage. Surely there is the option of getting more storage space up to 32GB with a MicroSD card. The performance was sleek courtesy of the 1.3 GHz octa-core processor Mediatek chipset. I played a couple of games conveniently and the phone didn’t hang when I minimized. I could get my two SIMs on board.
The battery is nice too. Presenting a nonremovable 3060 Li-ion Battery, I could watch Wonder Woman, The Fate of the Furious, Get Out, John Wick (chapter 2), and I could still chat all day with one of my crushes who I have been wooing for almost six years. What to do? The battery to me is one of the best selling points of the phone especially for those people who get to scream NEPA (lights on) may be once in four days, talking irregular power supply. All the same, it charges pretty fast with USB 5 Pin Micro-USB.
Altogether, I must say I was impressed with the Infinix smart. Except the fact that it doesn’t support 4G and the front 2 MP Camera, I think it is a nice phone to get considering the sleekness of the design, the powerful speakers and the sustainable battery not forgetting that it is Android v7.0 (Nougat). Even If you look at the price (which comes at barely N30k or less), you can easily overlook the front camera. Or where you expecting to get iPhone 7 qualities from a phone less than N30k? Na wa for you oo!
