Google April Fool Gmail button backfires

The Gmail button was sending animated picture gif which featured a Minion character “dropping the mic” rather literally to users.
Google has quickly initiated a removal of the April Fool’s Gmail button, which was responsible for sending recipients comical animations. This was following reports of people who suffered job losses as well as critical hitches in occupational communication.

If you had seen it, the button surfaced just beside the normal send button of Gmail which gave users the ability to shut down a full thread once they send the gif of the minion dropping a microphone. But Google didn’t see the fun element which it was expecting to realize as an array of complaints showcased on Google’s forums. This prompted Google to remove the feature supporting the removal with an official apology.

“It looks like we pranked ourselves this year,” Google apologized in a statement.
“Due to a bug, the MicDrop feature inadvertently caused more headaches than laughs. We’re truly sorry.”

A mic drop is a not a meme lacking in popularity as it connotes an individual declaring a refutation prior walking off after dropping a microphone.

Google also announced that users who are still on the suffering end of this feature could without stress switch it off via means of restarting gmail or reloading.
It was really less calamitous that the button was not really enabled on professional Gmail accounts of corporate bodies,

Several persons complained of lost jobs

“Thanks to MicDrop I just lost my job,” a user on Google’s product forums claimed.
“I am a writer and had a deadline to meet. I sent my articles to my boss and never heard back from her. I inadvertently sent the email using the MicDrop send button.”

This just another April fool joke backfiring.
