As a consequence of this move, Instagram and Facebook users stop having the ability to offer or carry out the private sale of firearms, ammunition or gun parts on the social media the company said. That surely corresponds, tuning the new Facebook firearms policy in line with Facebook’s ban on the private sales of marijuana, illegal drugs and pharmaceuticals.

As far back in March 2014, Facebook adopted decisive steps to cut down on sales of firearms which encompasses stopping minors from seeing posts about gun sales and trades. Further moves included asking Facebook pages majorly involved in the act of promoting the private sale of regulated goods and services to add on language that brings users to mind with laws and regulation.

“Over the last two years, more and more people have been using Facebook to discover products and to buy and sell things to one another. We are continuing to develop, test, and launch new products to make this experience even better for people and are updating our regulated goods policies to reflect this evolution,” Monika Bickert, Facebook’s head of product policy, said in an emailed statement.
